OUTCOME OF PUBLIC MEETING

A Save Coburg Residents Network meeting was held on 6 June 2013 at Coburg Library. About 100 residents were present to hear guest speaker, Dr Michael Buxton, Professor Environment and Planning, School of Global Studies, Social Science and Planning, RMIT University explain Melbourne’s new planning laws and how they impact on Coburg. Dr Buxton's speech provided great insight ionto these planning laws and the impact they would have on our community.

This was followed by discussion with all those residents present to define a collective response to Moreland City Council's planning Amendment C123. A list of resolutions was the result of this discussion, and reflect a very different view that residents have for Coburg as opposed to the one listed in C123. These  resolutions will be presented to Moreland City Council very soon, and we are very much uging the Council to listen to what Coburg residents have to say about their communtiy before the Council vote on Amendment C123 later this year.
